Every way to earn passive income, in one place.
Dividends, bonds, preferred stocks, options premium, cash rates, private credit, real estate, royalties, international income, side hustles and digital businesses — the mechanics, the current numbers, and the risks. Research only. Never advice.
Today's income rates
The going rate on the safest income first — everything else on this site is priced against it.
These are the rates on the plainest income there is: short-term government debt, the national average paid on insured bank deposits, and the average yield across corporate bonds. The site opens here because every other income on it is priced against these. When something pays noticeably more, the extra is payment for taking on something — a longer wait, a weaker borrower, a payment somebody can cancel — and working out what that something is, is most of the job. Each figure is the latest observation its publisher released, with the date beside it, not a live market price.
Start with the six mechanisms
Every passive-income stream on earth pays you through one of six mechanisms. Learn the six and the whole map organises itself.
1. Interest from lending
You lend money; you receive interest. Savings, CDs, Treasuries, bonds, private credit, notes.
Learn →2. Distributions from ownership
You own a slice of a business; it pays out profits. Dividends, preferreds, REITs, BDCs, MLPs, funds.
Learn →3. Rent & lease payments
You own a thing; someone pays to use it. Property, land, equipment, containers, billboards.
Learn →4. Royalties & licensing
You own rights; users pay per use. Music, books, film, patents, software, minerals.
Learn →5. Option premiums
You sell someone the right to buy or sell at a set price and keep the premium.
Learn →6. Business profits
You own an operating company someone else runs. Silent partnerships, franchises, funds.

Open →Dividend payers on the radar
Large-cap dividend payers ranked by our research score — a screen, not a recommendation.
A screen is a filter, not a verdict. Every row here is a large US company that already pays a dividend, ordered by a score this site computes from what has actually been paid — never from what anyone expects next. Read the yield knowing what it is: a payment divided by a price. It rises when the price falls, so a high number near the top of a list can be a company the market has marked down as easily as a generous one. Open a ticker to see the payment history the yield came from.
| Ticker | Company | Price | Forward yieldLatest payment, annualised, over today's price. | Forward annual | Pays |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AVA | Avista Corporation | $37.75 | 5.22% | $1.97 | Quarterly |
| VZ | Verizon Communications Inc. | $50.25 | 5.63% | $2.83 | Quarterly |
| CMCSA | Comcast Corporation | $27.10 | 4.87% | $1.32 | Quarterly |
| MO | Altria Group, Inc. | $68.07 | 6.23% | $4.24 | Quarterly |
| HPQ | HP Inc. | $29.52 | 4.07% | $1.20 | Quarterly |
| SR | Spire Inc. | $83.21 | 3.97% | $3.30 | Quarterly |
| OZK | Bank OZK | $49.20 | 3.90% | $1.92 | Quarterly |
| WSBC | WesBanco, Inc. | $40.51 | 3.75% | $1.52 | Quarterly |
Forward here means the last regular payment annualised by its cadence, over the latest price — an estimate of the next twelve months rather than cash already paid. Each security's own page also shows the trailing twelve-month figure, which will differ whenever a payment has changed in the last year. See how we compute these numbers.
