How a headline gets here: two market-data vendors send a large feed several times a day, every item is tested against a fixed list of named publishers, anything from a press-release wire, an aggregator, a stock-promotion site or a law-firm solicitation is dropped, and what survives has to match one of the income topics above or it is dropped too. Most of what the vendors send never reaches this page. Nothing here is written, rewritten or summarised by us — the headline, the description and the timestamp are the publisher's, and the link goes to their page. That also means the feed is a filtered sample rather than the day's news: a story absent from this page has not been judged unimportant, it simply came from somewhere that cannot appear here.

Which publishers can appear here
The allowlist is the whole editorial position of this tab. It is published here so you can check it rather than take it on trust.
Only 72 named publishers can appear in this feed — wire services, mainstream business press, and specialist market titles. Press-release distribution wires, law-firm class-action solicitations, stock-promotion copy and syndication portals are blocked outright, including when they arrive under an allowed byline. Anything matching none of the income topics below is dropped rather than filed under a catch-all.

Three categories are excluded whatever they are about. Press-release distribution wires carry text an issuer wrote and paid to distribute — a primary document, not reporting, and the largest single source of filler in any commercial news feed. Aggregators republish other outlets' work under their own banner, which would put the wrong name next to a headline. Contributor networks and stock-picking publishers produce recommendation copy at volume, which has no place on a site that publishes no recommendations of its own.
One more class is blocked before the allowlist is even consulted: law-firm class-action solicitations. They are advertisements for legal services written in the shape of market news, and they routinely reach a feed under a reputable byline, so the headline itself is tested rather than only the sender.
If a headline here matters to you, read it at the publisher's site rather than through us. We show the title, the outlet, the time and the publisher's own one-line description, and then get out of the way. Nothing on this page tells you what to do about what you read.
