One cookie, six browser-storage keys, and nothing that follows you off this site. This page lists all of it — what each entry does, how long it lasts and how to get rid of it — because a consent bar is only worth something if this page exists behind it.

Where this site stands today

No advertising network is loaded on this site, so nothing here sets an advertising cookie and no consent bar is shown. What the site stores by itself is functional and is shared with nobody: the language you pick, your theme, your Guided or Expert view, and the securities you save.

What this page is

A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep and hand back on the next visit. Browser storage is the same idea without the handing back: the page reads it on your own device and it never travels.

This is the complete list of what this site puts on your device: one cookie, a handful of browser-storage keys, and — only if advertising is switched on — the cookies the advertising network sets. Each entry says what it is called, who put it there, what it does, how long it lasts and how to remove it.

It is written to be checkable rather than reassuring. If something on this page does not match what you find in your own browser, that is a bug in the page and we would like to hear about it by email to madisonlabs.ai@gmail.com or through the contact form.

Everything this site stores on your device

The two extra columns in Expert view — the technical scope and whether anything leaves your device — say the same thing in more detail. Nothing is hidden from Guided view; it is the same table with the specialist columns dropped.

Seven entries, and these are all of them. Six exist only because you asked for something — a language, a theme, a view, a saved list, an answer to the consent bar — and the seventh records the date of that answer. None of them identifies you, none is shared with anyone, and none is used to build a profile.

Only the first row is a cookie in the strict sense: it travels to the server with every request, because the server has to know which of the eighteen languages to render before it can build the page. Everything below it stays on your device and is read by the page you are looking at.

One entry has a caveat worth stating plainly. The saved list stays on your device, but the tickers on it have to travel when you open the Saved page: the page asks our own lookup for what those securities pay today, and the tickers ride in that request's address. The answer is computed and returned; no list, no row and no record of who asked is stored. Nothing else in the table stored by us leaves the device at all.

Google Analytics counts visits — which pages are read, roughly where readers arrive from, and whether the browser has been here before. Its cookies (_ga, and one _ga_* for this site) are listed in the table, and declining on this page switches the measurement off and removes them. There is no advertising pixel of ours, no session recording, no heat mapping and no fingerprinting attempt. Numbers typed into the calculators are used by your own browser to compute the answer on the page and are never transmitted or stored.

Advertising: none is running on this site today

In plain terms: nobody is advertising here, so nobody is asking you for anything. If that changes you will be asked before it happens, not after.

No advertising network is loaded on this site. There is no advertising tag in the page, no advertising cookie is set through it, and no consent bar appears.

That last part is deliberate. A bar demanding consent for a language cookie and a colour theme would be theatre, and the habit it trains — click Accept, nothing happens — is what makes consent meaningless everywhere else. So nothing is asked while nothing is at stake.

If display advertising is switched on, three things change together, and this page is where you can check them: advertising rows appear in the table above; a bar appears at the bottom of the screen with accept and decline given equal weight; and the advertising tag loads only after an explicit acceptance. Declining, ignoring the bar, closing it, or browsing with JavaScript off all mean the tag is never requested.

The Privacy Policy describes the same arrangement from the data-protection side, and changes with it.

Changing your mind, and removing what is stored

The buttons need JavaScript to work. The browser step below them does not, and it removes more: it clears everything this site holds on your device, including the preferences you may want to keep.

A decision about advertising cookies can be withdrawn at any time, and it is no harder to withdraw than it was to give. Nothing on the site is withheld either way.

Decline advertising cookies records a refusal on this device. From that moment the advertising tag is not loaded on any page you open, whatever you chose before.
Forget my choice removes the record entirely, so you are asked again next time rather than being held to an old answer.
Clearing this site's data in your browser removes the language cookie, the theme, the view mode, the saved list and the consent record in one go — every row in the table above that belongs to us. In most browsers this lives under privacy settings, as cookies and site data, where you can search for a single site and delete what it holds. The wording differs by browser and by version; the concept does not.
Blocking third-party cookies, which most browsers now do by default, stops Google's doubleclick.net entries before any choice made here is involved.

Two honest limits. Withdrawing stops new advertising cookies from being set; it cannot reach into cookies an advertising network already placed, which is what the browser-level step above is for, and it cannot unload a script that has already run on the page you are on — reload and it is gone. And clearing site data clears everything, so your theme, your view and your saved list go with it, and the consent bar will introduce itself again.

Third parties your browser contacts

One third party is contacted by your browser on every page, and it is not an advertiser. The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser requests them from Google's font servers, and that request carries your IP address and browser details as any web request does. It sets no cookie through us and we receive nothing from it. An extension that blocks third-party requests will stop it, and the site stays fully readable in your system fonts.

Links out to publishers, issuers, regulators and data providers are ordinary links: following one puts you on their site under their policies, and this page stops at our boundary.

Our server keeps ordinary request logs — address, page, time, status, referrer, user agent — to keep the site running and to spot abuse. They are not cookies and are not used to profile anyone; the Privacy Policy covers them.

How this page is kept true

The inventory above is written from the code, not from memory: the language cookie is set by the page renderer, the theme and view keys by the interface script, the saved list by the save-star script and the consent keys by the consent script. When one of those changes, this page changes in the same edit.

If a change materially affects what is stored or who can read it, it will be described here rather than slipped in, and the review date at the top will move.

Does this site use cookies?

One of its own: a language cookie, set only if you pick a language from the switcher, so the server knows which of the eighteen to render. Why is there no cookie banner?

Because nothing here needs consent. A language choice and a colour theme are functional, stay on your device and profile nobody, and a banner demanding agreement to them would be theatre. The moment advertising is switched on, a bar appears with accept and decline given equal weight.

Where is my saved list of securities kept?

In your own browser, under the key ii-saved. There is no account behind it and we keep no copy, which also means it does not follow you to another device or survive clearing your browser data. The one time it leaves your device is when the Saved page asks our server what those tickers pay today; that request is answered and nothing about it is stored.

How do I remove everything this site has stored?

Clear this site's data in your browser's privacy settings. That removes the language cookie, the theme, the view mode, the saved list and any consent record in one action. The buttons on this page are narrower: they change or forget the advertising-cookie decision and leave your preferences alone.

Are the numbers I type into the calculators stored anywhere?

No. They are used by your own browser to compute the result on the page. They are not transmitted to the server, not written to storage and not recoverable by us.

Is there any analytics on this site?

Google Analytics 4 counts visits and page views. Declining the cookie choice, or withdrawing it on this page, switches the measurement off in this browser and removes its cookies. There is no session recording and no fingerprinting. Server request logs exist, as they do on every web server, and the Privacy Policy describes what is in them and how long they are kept.
